Nonprofit Leadership Lab
Six months.
One morning a month.
Real work done before lunch.
If this sounds like you, you’re in the right place:
For the executive who loves people, hates spreadsheets, and wants a plan, not a miracle.
For leaders who keep saying, “We’ll figure that out later,” and later keeps showing up.
For nonprofit folks who care deeply, work hard, and still wish there was a manual.
For leaders who know their mission isn’t the problem, talking about it is.
If you nodded at least once, welcome. Let’s get to work.
What the Lab is…
A six-month, in-person cohort for nonprofit leaders who want to stop guessing and start moving.
You’ll leave each session with:
clear direction
a simple framework
and a next step you can act on right away
Not theory, just practical guidance and momentum.
The morning flow
Come early for coffee & snacks
9:00–10:15 — Learn It
Clear frameworks taught with real nonprofit examples.
10:15–10:30 — Break
10:30–11:30 — Lab Time
Work through the framework with your team and get feedback in real time.
11:30–12:00 — Lunch & Q&A
You won’t finish everything in the room.
But you’ll know what to do next and how to do it.
What we’ll cover (January–June 2026)
January 9 — StoryBrand Your Nonprofit
Say who you are and get clear on how you sound everywhere.
February 13 — AI for Nonprofits
Save time and create better content without becoming a robot.
March 13— Donor Awareness + Unreasonable Hospitality
Treat donors like humans, not transactions.
April 10 — Acquisition, Expansion, Retention
Grow a committed base using simple systems.
May 8 — Website, Email & Social Strategy
Fix the places where people get confused or click away.
June 12 — Team Culture, Leadership & Board Alignment
Get everybody on the same page heading into year-end.
Who this is for…
Executive Directors
Development / Advancement leaders
Communications teams
Board members who want to be helpful (not just “present”)
No marketing degree needed. Just curiosity, humility, and a willingness to try new things.
Investment
$5,000 if paid monthly, or…
$4,500 if paid upfront in full
Add team members for $500 each.
Spots are limited, on purpose.
Most nonprofits aren’t stuck because they lack passion. They’re stuck because they lack a plan they actually understand. We’ll work on that, together.
Michael Tolosa, Cru | Web Strategy Team Leader
"Matt provided excellent brand messaging for our Cru.org website redesign. What many people don’t know about Cru is that many of our content pieces that find their way into hands across the world start from Matt’s office in Kentucky. Whether it’s Athletes In Action, a global Bible campaign, or our presence with the FIFA World Cup, Matt has become a go-to resource for our digital team.
He’s an expert in the industry and shares our organization's Christian values. At every step, he was able to accommodate our shifting priorities and staff needs - and patiently worked with our large organization's bureaucracy. I wholeheartedly recommend him to any organization looking to tell their story with compelling clarity."
